Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is First-person Shooter rooted in a fictional, but ultra realistic near-future conflict of mostly American forces with those of the Russian Federation around the globe. The third installment in the Modern Warfare branch of the Call of Duty franchise, Modern Warfare 3 features a heavy focus on multiplayer gameplay which includes innovative new functionality that encourages multiple gameplay combat strategies, a new 2-player co-op option, new play modes, weapons and more. The game also includes a gripping single player campaign that picks up where Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 left off.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is a direct sequel of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and continues the storyline in the game’s single player campaign. The game has improved on the multiplayer aspect by focusing on a fast-paced, gun-on-gun combat. Multiplayer mode now has a Pointstreaks system that combines killstreaks, benefits and abilities that are award for multiple kills. Weapons now gain experience and rank up to be able to accept additional attachments, camos and reticules. New modes have been incorporated into the gameplay with modes like protect the flag and Kill Confirmed mode.
My husband has really enjoyed all the Call of Duty line of games and has had fun playing this game as well. He mentioned that the storyline fits right along with Call of Duty 2 and felt like it was pretty much the same game, on a continued storyline. He has really enjoyed the multiplayer mode though and the improvements there. If you’re not expecting a completely new twist on video games and enjoy the other Call of Duty games then you will enjoy playing this game as well. Don’t expect drastic changes to the single-player gameplay though.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is available for XBOX 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, and for the PC. The PC version retails for $59.99 and is available through Steam Powered, Amazon, and in stores locally.
