The Birth Order Book & How Do You Tuck in a Superhero Book Review & Giveaway

The Birth Order Book

“Firstborn? Only child? Middle child? Baby of the family? Find out what it means to you, your relationships, and your career.

Do you realize that of the first twenty-three astronauts in space, twenty-one were firstborns and the other two were the only child in their family? Are you aware that many successful entrepreneurs are middle children? Is it any surprise that most comedians are the youngest child in their family? It’s all about birth order.

Birth order powerfully influences who you are, whom you marry, the job you choose, and the kind of parent you are. And Dr. Kevin Leman’s The Birth Order Book will help you understand yourself, get along better with others, overcome ingrained tendencies you never thought you could get rid of, and be more successful in the workplace. This revised and updated edition of Dr. Leman’s classic book includes more than thirty years of experience and research, current examples, and fascinating stories to show how birth order impacts your life.”

I was really interested in reading “The Birth Order Book” to see how birth order could affect my children and my relationships. The concepts taught throughout the book were really interesting but I still felt somewhat confused overall at my “birth order”. I’m the 3rd born child but as the first female I am also considered a firstborn. I saw myself fitting in both these two birth order classes to some degree. The confusing and conflicting part came to when I would read the sections on applying your birth order towards work and marriages relationships. Though, it was still very worthwhile to get out of it what aspects I could. I really appreciated the sections on raising different birth orders though. It gave me valuable insights as to how my children might feel and how to make them each feel loved in the way they individually need!

How Do You Tuck in a Superhero Book

“When Rachel Balducci looks for material for her writing, she doesn’t have to look far. Her subject matter can be found climbing through the window, hanging on to the edge of the roof, and rummaging through the refrigerator. Here she chronicles the exuberant, awesome life of boys through bizarre conversations overheard, unbelievable rules she’s been forced to make, and the many episodes of boy behavior that continue to mystify mothers worldwide. From the care and feeding of her team, to travels out in public, to their wide-eyed adoration of Chuck Norris, this laugh-out-loud celebration joyfully explores the sweetly wild side of boyhood.”

I have really loved reading “How Do You Tuck in a Superhero?”. This book is so witty, fun and inspiring at the same time! Her simple stories of life as a mother of 5 boys were entertaining but also in some ways very revealing! As a mother of 3 boys myself I found myself at times gleaning lessons and deep truths about life with boys that had not really ever come across to me in that way before. I’m sure deep down I probably realized the truths about boys but putting them to light has been helping me to be a better mother as I think about and remember to enjoy those things that make them BOYS! For example, her stories about boys and food really resonated with me! I’ve often wondered how my little boys can be truly THAT hungry ALL.DAY.LONG until I read her stories and laughed and the truth sunk in that Yes, they really can be hungry all day! This book is a fabulous read for moms of boys!

These two books are published by Revell Books. The Birth Order Book retails for $15.99 and How Do You Tuck in a Superhero retails for $12.99.
