My kids have always loved the Peanuts gang of characters so they were excited to watch a new show! I love having holiday themed movies to watch as it get my kids all excited as they anticipate the winter months! Snow Days has a cute episode with Peppermint Patty who is training for her ice skating competition only to have a technical difficultly the day of the competition!!! As always, my 3 year old loved watching Snoopy, who was a main part throughout the episode as Peppermint Patty’s coach. Since we don’t get snow here in the Phoenix Valley, they loved watching an episode filled with snow and all things winter that we don’t get to see a whole lot of here.
A Charlie Brown Christmas – In this Emmy® (for Outstanding Children’s Program in 1966) and Peabody Award winning classic, Charlie Brown is upset by how commercial the Christmas holiday has become. To coax him out of his holiday blues, Lucy suggests he direct the school’s Christmas pageant and decorate a glorious tree. Charlie Brown concedes. The tree he finds however, is puny, prompting everyone to ridicule him.
I love this DVD, and have such fond memories of watching this as a child. It’s so great to share some of the holiday classics with my kids. They really enjoyed watching the cartoons and it was really fun to watch them see this for the first time. My daughter kept asking why Charlie Brown got such a small tree, but really liked the end when it got all decorated and everybody was happy again. This is a really great Christmas movie that will be sure to please year after year!
