Kidco Safety Products Review & Giveaway

KidCo Anti-Tip Furniture Strap

The US Consume Product Safety Commission once again has warned that TV and Furniture Tip-Over-Related deaths and injuries are a concern! “Between 2000 and 2010, CPSC staff received reports of 245 tip-over-related deaths involving children 8 years old and younger. More than 90 percent of the incidents involved children 5 years old and younger. In more than half of the 245 fatalities (56%), the child was crushed by the weight of the television, furniture, or appliance. The majority of these children suffered fatal injuries to the head (67%).” It was really important for me to hear this reminder as we have our flat panel TV on top of our bedroom dresser. I hadn’t thought too much about it but my son has recently started reaching up to the TV trying to touch the buttons. I’ve since been really concerned so I have been glad for the KidCo Anti-Tip TV Strap. You can also mount your furniture to the wall with their Anti-Tip Furniture Strap. This is especially important for dressers with drawer that children might attempt to climb up.

KidCo Closet Door Lock

All of our closet doors have sliding doors that have made it nearly impossible to keep thing up and away and completely out of reach from my kids. My 3 year old is especially horrible about this. I cannot keep him out of the closet and he’ll pull out anything I put away in there during his nap times. I was thrilled to try out the Sliding Door Closet Door Locks from KidCo that can be deactivated when not needed and easily “unlocked” to open the sliding door but not simple for children! The locks were SO easy to install but they do need 24 hours before being used to insure a strong bond is formed with the adhesive. I installed the locks and then locked them on inactive so my boys wouldn’t tug at the door too early. Since, they’ve worked really well and have been a huge lifesaver for us! Finally, an EASY way to keep sliding closet doors closed and locked!

KidCo Magnet Lock & Power Strip Cover

Another really important kids safety item is KidCo Adhesive Mount Magnet Lock-Starter Set and additional 4 Lock Set. The set has a magnetic key that unlocks cabinet doors and drawers. We have the spring loaded traditional style locks on all our cabinets, but our under-sink cabinet lock recently broke. This cabinet holds all our soap and washing agents so this is an especially critical cabinet to keep locked. As my older two boys have already figured out our spring locks, it was great to be able to improve to a tougher lock! It has been great to have something they can’t access as the key is up out of reach and the door doesn’t even budge with the magnetic lock!

KidCo Mesh Convertible Bed Rail

I was also able to review a KidCo Power Strip Cover which was perfect for covering an exposed extension cord and plugs. It is made to fit a single width extension cord and was really easy to set up to safely store the cords and does a great job keeping all the plugs out of access! We were also sent a Convertible Crib Mesh Bed Rail which will be perfect when my son is ready for a toddler bed in just a few short months!
