The website came together when SAHM, Michelle Kaplan, realized that the typical games she found online just didn’t seem right for her. Most of them pitted players against each other to win points, status or prizes. Michelle felt like the games were better suited for young men who liked to slay monsters or score touchdowns. Like most women, she wanted to play games where she could socialize and collaborate with friends, not compete against them. The last thing she needed was more stress in her life. So she got the idea to build a different kind of game – one where people cooperate, rather than compete, to help each other earn points to win prizes.
Working with her husband Jerry, a computer engineer, she came up with a new type of game where people can win prizes FASTER if they work together. The result was Winster.com, where friends help friends win free prizes. The casual games are played with up to five players in the same room. They are encouraged to trade game pieces with each other to complete their puzzles or game board faster. The real-time chat feature allows them to interact with one another while playing. Many players have developed meaningful friendships through the site, which have helped them cope with depression and loneliness, and overcome many of life’s challenges. It’s a great support group for people going through similar life experiences, or share similar interests.
I love playing games so Winster was a perfect fit for me! Whenever I am sitting on my computer I usually have another tab open with a game on it. That way when I am feeling burnt out or just want to socialize, I can take a quick break. Winster is now my favorite game site! Not only do you win virtual prizes, you can will tangible ones as well! I don’t quite have enough points to win anything huge, but I am saving up! I also love the fact that you can chat with others while playing the games. It’s a great way to meet people from all walks of life. I really like Slot Social and Spell Squad. Slot Social for when I don’t feel like thinking too hard, and Spell Squad for when I am up for a challenge!
