A Mom's Take Back to School Shopping Guide and Event!

Ten Marks was founded by “entrepreneurial parents searching for a better way to help students achieve their potential in math, and supplement and enrich their classroom learning.”  It allows students to work at their own pace in 20-minute increments three times a week.  If a certain problem is too hard, the program will give hints one at a time until the concept is understood, instead of just moving on.  It is a great program to work on during the summer so your kids can retain what they have learned the previous year and be ready for new concepts when school starts.  Parent involvement is a key part to your child’s success.  With weekly progress reports, you will always know what your child has mastered and where additional help might be needed. Once your child completes his/her work, they can gain access to the “reward zone” where they can play games and print out certificates to celebrate their accomplishments!

This is a screenshot of my son’s “student home page”.  He just started this week, because he was gone for the summer, but has really been enjoying the program.

Here are my 12-year-old’s thoughts of TenMarks…

The TenMarks program is amazing! It helps you improve in math so much. What I really like about this is that it is like a school online, and it challenges you to see where you are at, then helps you with any questions or sections you don’t quite understand. What is convenient about this program is that you can really tell what level you are at, what you can easily do and what you have trouble with, then you can use this to your advantage by informing your school about where you are, that way you can learn more at school too. This program also has due dates, so you can’t slack off for a while, and at the end, it grades you on how well you did. You can also do tests ahead of time, to get you in a habit of doing homework early, and once you finish a certain amount of tests, you can unlock really fun games as a reward! Another convenience about this is that it allows you to take vacations, without making you work!  I really enjoy TenMarks, and I can’t wait to see how much I’ve grown since I first started!

TenMarks is an online program to help kids in grades 3-12 improve their math skills.  A membership costs only $10 a month!
