Gold Toe socks have been around since the Great Depression when Americans wanted socks that wore better and lasted longer. It started when a Pennsylvania knitting mill called Great American came up with the idea of sewing gold linen reinforcing yarn into the toe of its socks to help solve these problems. It worked and that’s how Gold Toe socks came to be. In 2006 they merged with Moretz to create one of the largest, most reputable sock companies in the world. GoldToeMoretz has a vision to be the global sock category leader by marketing leadership brands and leveraging a low-cost, world wide supply chain. The headquarters are in Newton, North Carolina.
I have three different answers from three different kids about why they liked Powersox. My 12-year-old liked them because he didn’t wear through them in a week like most of his other socks. My 7-year-old liked them because they didn’t have “bumpies”. (according to him bumpies are the fabric on the toe of the sock that makes them uncomfortable when you put shoes on) My 5-year-old loved them because “they have pink and flowers on them”. I agree with all of their reasons…I don’t have to buy my oldest socks every few weeks, I don’t have to deal with the mini-meltdowns about “bumpies” before school, and my daughter has been wearing matching socks to school which is a huge plus! My husband does laundry, so he is thankful for the gold stripes that help you match them easier. (one stripe for small, two for medium, and three for large) Awesome product for kids and adults. Great quality too!
You can find Powersox on Amazon or at your favorite retailer.
