Fix-It and Forget-It Christmas Cookbook: 600 Slow Cooker Holiday Recipes is packed full of recipes and is sure to have something you will enjoy! But while there is plenty of recipes to choose from, there are no images of the meals in the entire book. For me, I really feel like I have to see it to be enticed to make a meal as I have a hard time deviating from my standard few things I always make. I would love to be brave and try new things but I just have a hard time figuring out if I would like it without seeing an image of the dish. This book covers breakfast/brunch, appetizers, snacks, soups/stews, main dishes, vegetables, beverages, and desserts/sweets.
Fix-It and Forget-It Kids’ Cookbook: 50 Favorite Recipes to Make in a Slow Cooker is the first cookbook for kids that uses a slow cooker. The book goes through an introduction guide on showing children how to measure, how to use your slow cooker, and safety tips, to name a few. After the introduction there are 5 categories the book goes through – Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, Dinner, and Desserts. I had never really thought of desserts in a slow cooker! They have some really cook recipes and lots I can’t wait to try, but some still leave me confused. For example, a lunch time recipe that says to cook for 7-9 hours… If I am wanting to eat lunch at noon I’m not about to start my food at 3 in the morning, or even 5 am for that matter! This cookbook has a full page, full color picture paired with each recipe so it is very inviting for children and adults alike. It sure makes me want to try just about every recipe in the book! It comes as a hardcover cookbook and spiral bound as well so it is very easy to navigate!
