This program uses very simple steps that builds upon what they’ve learned previous lessons. They focus each lesson on learning, practicing, and then reading. From the kindergarten level on, you begin with a DVD that introduces the sounds you will be working with for that lesson. Then you move on to the workbook to have your child practice reading the new sounds and words. When they are ready to move on you can have them practice with a storybook made for the level they currently are at using the words they just learned. Each lesson is planned to take approximately 20 minutes a day. You should set up a schedule and be consistent in doing the lessons and you can set it up for daily or several times a week, whatever works best for you.
Check out this great introduction video that explains how it works! This video starts with the Kindergarten level as it’s base point.
We started with the Pre-K learning system (Shown above is Pre-K Level 1) to do a quick review through level 1 and level 2. My nearing 4 year old already was very familiar with the letters and sounds but it was great to reinforces those and also focus on some of the other elements in the beginning levels such as rhyming. We went through a unit each day, 4 letters, as it was all review for him. My son loved the interaction from working together to learn and especially loved the fun Pre-K workbook that teaches cutting, gluing, and other basic skills while teaching about numbers, shapes, colors, animals, and vehicles! We just finished the 2 Pre-K levels and I’m excited to move my son on to the next level to begin learning words!
