I received a Baby Dipper bowl to review. This bowl is made to make feeding a baby easier and to help toddlers have an easier time learning to self feed. It has a non-slip grip on the bottom so the bowl stays firmly on the table while your little one tries to use the spoon to eat. It is also triangular shaped and dips down to a low point at the front of the triangle. This helps to guide all food into one spot to make getting the food onto the spoon much easier! It is also BPA, Lead, and Phthalate free! The bowl comes with it’s own fork and spoon which have a curved handle and fit easily into the corners of the triangle shaped bowl.
I had my nearing 2 year old try this bowl out because he is a horribly messy eater! He LOVES to eat and will eat anything and everything but much of his food ends up in his lap still! He loves to be able to feed himself though and I was excited to try a bowl that was offering to help make feeding time easier and cleaner!! We used this several times with applesauce as it’s one of the foods he’ll actually use a spoon with. Most of the time he’ll start with a spoon and then end up using his hands.
I was really surprised when he told me he was done! I checked the Baby Dipper bowl and it had just a teeny bit left at the bottom lowest part of the triangle!! In the bowls we normally use (small IKEA bowls) there is always quite a bit of applesauce (or other foods) left at the bottom and especially the sides of the bowl. He also finished eating quite a bit quicker than he normally does (and before I could even sit down to my own lunch!) Also he didn’t have any applesauce on his lap! There was a bit on his chin and a tiny bit on his shirt and placemat but it was WAY WAY cleaner than what I’m used to!! The spoon was really easy for him to hold and use to scoop and it fit his mouth really well as well. I really liked this bowl! I thought at first it seemed a bit small (and I still think it is for a main course for a 2 year old) but it held his applesauce portion really well!
